This has been a great hot summer with lots of sunshine with that also comes less activity. When it's hot and humid who wants to exercise unless you are fortunate enough to live by a lake or have a camp or cottage to frequent each week. So today I'm adding some great tips I receive way back in February and feel they will help us move forward from summer into the cooler fall days ahead.

I know I always have to remind myself.

10 WAYS TO BOOST METABOLISM

 

 

1. Maximize your muscle. Muscles are fat-burning furnaces, be sure to do enough resistance training to build and maintain them and follow your with a snack or meal balanced in protein, carbohydrates and fat. Avoid anything with sugar for 2 hours after to utilize fat fuels.

 

 

2. A CARDIO routines i.e. walking at least 40 minute to 1 hour, dancing up a storm, swimming, jogging - running, a cardio class are a few of the many cardio workouts you can do to improve definition and blasts the fat that covers your muscles.

 

 

3. Stretching everyday can help your muscles work better so you can more effectively isolate your problem areas.

 

 

4. Focus on your assets. Think in term of your body type what sharp you are round, long or muscular. Sculpting your shoulders, arms, chest, and back, for example, can help balance heavier hips so you look more proportionate. Plus, you'll be firmer all over.

 

 

5. Don't starve yourself. Under eating causes your metabolism to drop and your body to hold onto fat. Shape recommends that the average, active woman consume at least 1,800 calories daily. There are many foods out there that have healthy fat, such as avocados.

 

 

6. Go graze-y. Eat 6 small meals a day to avoid blood-sugar spikes and minimize urges to overeat. Be aware of these small meals find good choices from all food groups.

 

 

7. Get real. Fuel your body with wholesome, healthy foods and limit your intake of refined carbs (anything sugary or white-flour based). When you can buy breads made from Ezekiel or corn flour.

 

 

8. Drink more water. Staying hydrated will help you feel full longer and keep you healthy.

 

 

9. Sleep tight. Get 7-8 hours of sleep a night. Very important.

 

 

10. Control what you can. Keep stress levels in check by managing your time, focusing on the present and not over-committing.
