The City of Thunder Bay is holding a Community Celebration on Friday, December 16 to celebrate the opening of certain features of the new waterfront development.

On this date, the skating pond and water pavilion will be opened as well the light beacons will become operational and there will be fireworks.  The official welcome will take place at the waterfront at 7pm that date with fireworks scheduled for 8pm.  The City is inviting the community of Thunder Bay to come & have a look at what’s been happening at the waterfront.  Bring your ice skates and come have fun at the outdoor skating pad!

There will be free parking in the Parkade during this time as well as a shuttle bus from the downtown to the waterfront.  In addition, the pedestrian overpass will open this date.
